  • The Nebraska Forest Service and Nebraska Statewide Arboretum provide key services to municipalities, green industry professionals, and community tree advocacy groups and organizations.

• Urban & Community Forestry Grants: The Nebraska Statewide Arboretum has been awarded $10 million by the USDA Forest Service Urban and Community Forestry program as part of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). These funds are distributed through competitive grants to improve Nebraska’s community forestry infrastructure, including tree care, removal, planting, and workforce development.

• Trees for Nebraska Towns (TNT): This program provides funding to support public space tree planting projects in communities throughout Nebraska. While current funding status should be verified, more information is available at:

• Tree Program by Nebraska's Natural Resources Districts (NRDs): All NRDs administer tree planting programs to provide trees and shrubs for windbreaks, erosion control, wildlife habitat, and other conservation purposes.

IRA Resources 

• Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Funding: The USDA Forest Service has allocated funds through the IRA to support urban and community forestry projects. The Nebraska Statewide Arboretum's recent grant is an example of such funding. Details about the grant can be found here:
