Nebraska Forest Service to Host Regional Tree Care Workshops in Wallace, Lexington, and Gordon
LINCOLN, Neb. — The Nebraska Forest Service will host a series of free, hands-on Tree Care Workshops across western Nebraska in March, offering participants practical training in tree health, pest identification, and proper pruning techniques. Workshops will take place March 17 in Wallace, March 18 in Lexington, and March 20 in Gordon.
Each one-day workshop is designed for community members, volunteers, tree board members, and professionals interested in learning how to better care for trees and strengthen local landscapes. Sessions will focus on identifying emerald ash borer (EAB), recognizing signs and symptoms of infestation, and applying proper pruning practices to promote long-term tree health and safety.
“This workshop series is a great opportunity for people to build real-world skills they can use right away to care for trees in their communities,” said Kaden Vowers, Western Assistant Community Forester with the Nebraska Forest Service. “Healthy trees don’t happen by accident — they depend on informed care, and we’re excited to provide training that helps people protect and strengthen their local tree resources.”
