2026/2027 Emergency Assistance Wildfire Control "Yellow Book"

The Nebraska Forest Service has officially completed the 2026/2027 Emergency Assistance Wildfire Control “Yellow Book” — a critical statewide resource used by fire departments, emergency managers, dispatch centers and cooperating agencies to coordinate wildfire response efforts across Nebraska.

The Yellow Book serves as a key operational guide during wildfire incidents and includes emergency contact information, resource listings, mutual aid agreements, dispatch procedures, radio frequencies, response protocols and agency coordination information. The publication helps ensure that local, state and federal partners can quickly communicate, mobilize resources and work together effectively during fast moving wildfire events.

The book plays an important role in Nebraska’s wildfire preparedness efforts each year, helping responders access the information they need before and during incidents.

Thank you to all of the personnel and partners who contributed their time and expertise to this year’s publication and continue supporting wildfire preparedness and response across the state.
